Our topic for this half-term is called 'Being me in my world'.

We will learn about our feelings and emotions, our families and where we live and look a little at space. Each week we will base our learning around a different book:

• Week 1 - Owl babies
• Week 2 - I am too absolutely small for school
• Week 3 - The colour monster
• Week 4 - The Smeds and the Smoos
• Week 5 - The way back home
• Week 6 - Whatever Next

This week we have been creating our own spaceships! We also started to look at patterns.

This week we have enjoyed spending some time outside! 

W/C 25/9/23 - The Colour Monster

This week we have discussed our feelings and made our own colour monster pictures and biscuits! 

W/C 18/9/23 - I am absolutely too small for school!

This week we have looked at the story 'I am absolutely too small for school!'. We discussed what we might need to bring to school and what we do to get ready for school in the morning. In maths this week we have been looking at colours and can now identify red, blue, yellow, green and orange! In phonics this week we have been practising our super listening ears and identified some common environmental sounds. We have also enjoyed lots of painting this week and even started practising our name writing! For our baking activity, we made a jam sandwich for a 'packed lunch' and enjoyed some pink milk just like the characters in our story. What a busy week! 

W/C 11.9.23 - Owl Babies

This week we have looked at the story 'Owl Babies' to promote a positive transition into nursery - as grown-ups always come back! We have looked at colours this week in Maths and can now identify red, blue and yellow. In phonics this week we have started to practice good listening with our super listening ears! We have had a fantastic 2nd week and enjoyed decorating biscuits in baking. 

 

W/C 4.9.23 - Starting school

This week we have had a super first week! Mrs Townsend and Miss Albon are so proud of all the children for how well they have settled into our nursery! We have been getting to know each other and enjoyed lots of play!
